Gemini Disco at PINK Saturday January 4th

You brought in the new year with class, now celebrate this first rainy ass weekend of 2008 with the Gemini Disco Gang.  We'll be loosening up the definition of disco for this one so expect to hear some new records, re-edits, left-field stuff and 80's disco.  I'm even going to bring some housier stuff for when the floor starts to BUMP.  Should be a great time all-in-all.  Get your fix now as the next Gemini isn't for another month!

XXXmas Party.

Just wanted to drop this on here for your enjoyment and clarification. We've decided to break our hiatus from sundays at the Beauty Bar by throwing an exclusive holiday party! If you've been missing that classic Gemini feeling (or never experienced it to begin with) then here's your chance to get it in its classic and condensed form.

We've made it RSVP and we're going to strictly enforce the list. We're doing it so that we can make sure that the mood stays positive and the night goes off without any hiccups. I'll be closing the list on Saturday night (22nd of december), so you can take it as easy as you'd like until then, though I have to warn you there is a good chance that we may go over capacity (beauty bar is pretty small after all).

Also, you might notice on the flyer that we have a new addition! Mamarazzi, our previous star polaroidographer has unfortunately left San Francisco for mellower pastures in the northwest. Taking her place is none other than everybody's favorite man with a camera, Kybron Hubbard. He shot us a great roll for Paradise. Give him a smile the next time he shoots a flash in your face, as there's a good chance you'll end up in the polaroid gallery. Nobody likes a frowner!

Oh yeah, as an added incentive for all you jacket users and coat wearers, we're going to be providing a FREE coat check service. Pretty classy, huh?

ELECTRIC BOOGIE IS BACK!

Hey everybody!

Hope you had as much fun at Paradise as we did.  Just letting you all know that last month's Electric Boogie party was such a success that we are going to be throwing it as a regular party every third friday at The 222 Club.  And also because we like you so much, we're going to keep it FREE!

We'll be playing a lot of the same music that we played last time, so expect lots of Boogie, Electro-funk, Freestyle, and other flavors of 80's dance music.  Nick and I can hardly contain our excitement.  There was such a nice mix of people at the last one, I really hope we can get those break dancers to do a repeat peformance...

Paradise on Friday!

Just wanted to throw this on here.

We're doing a disco extravaganza this friday night with the excellent New York disco band, Escort.  They will be playing two sets (something not mentioned on the flyer) one at 12:00am and one at 3:00am so if you for some reason decide to go to another club that night, you can come by after everything else winds down and catch an amazing act.

Something else not mentioned on the flyer is that there will be two dance floors, one of whom will be presided over by San Francisco's own Bus Station John.  I've also been told that the upstairs room will be featuring more italo, cosmic, and neu-disco flavors whereas the main hall will be burning it up with more traditional disco sounds.  The Gang is all really excited about this night and we really look forward to seeing everybody out on the floor.

What is an Electric Boogie?

It's free!  It's electronic.  It's funky.  And it sounds something like: this, this, this, and this.  Come join Nicky B. and I at the 222 club on November 16th for a free trip through the funky electronic sounds of the early to mid 80's.
